Synopsis: On October 11th, 2007, the Justice Department announced a partnership with law enforcement and oversight agencies in a new national initiative -- known as the "Export Enforcement Initiative" -- designed to combat illegal exports of controlled U.S. military items, dual-use technology and other products that could be used to harm the U.S. or contribute to the development of weapons of mass destruction.
