Obtaining the Advantage: Women-Owned Small Businesses Have an Edge in the Federal Contracts Marketplace

Synopsis: Since 1994 Congress has recognized that women-owned small businesses (�WOSB�) are valuable players in the Federal marketplace. To increase the number of successful WOSB, Congress has established goals for Federal contracts awarded to such businesses. Most recently, in 2000 Congress also limited certain procurement competitions to WOSB.
