Federal Government to Implement SAM in Late July: Goodbye CCR, ORCA and EPLS!

Bulletin: SAM stands for the System for Award Management and is the latest online government procurement tool. SAM will eventually combine nine federal procurement systems into one. Phase 1 of the SAM implementation is expected at the end of July 2012 and will combine Central Contractor Registration (“CCR”), Online Representations and Certifications (“ORCA”) and the Excluded Parties List System (“EPLS”) into one database. In future phases, Federal Business Opportunities (“FedBizOpps”), Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (“CFDA”), Electronic Subcontracting Reporting System (“eSRS”), Wage Determinations Online (“WDOL”), Federal Procurement Data System – Next Generation (“FPDS-NG), and Past Performance and Information Retrieval System/Contractor Performance Assessment Reporting System/Federal Awardee Performance and Integrity Information System (“PPIRS/CPARS/FAPISS”) will be added to the SAM portal.
